OnePlus 3’s new OTA firmware update, OxygenOS 3.2.0, that was released yesterday has been temporarily rolled back due to reports of issues after the upgrade. OnePlus has announced it will rollback the update for now, while it investigates the issue as reported on the company’s online forum.

OxygenOS 3.2.0 is set to add features including better RAM management, an sRGB mode for the display and an improvement in GPS performance. Other improvements include an enhanced audio playback quality, better camera quality/functionality, security patches and fixing of some gallery issues.

OnePlus 3 was launched in India last month, and features 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The 5.5-inch smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and has a 16 megapixel rear camera + 8 megapixel front camera.

In our review, we loved the OnePlus 3’s premium looks and performance. Camera was also another strong suit of the smartphone, which is giving exceptional low-light shots and regular performance for its price.

The one issue with OnePlus phones has been the ability of updates to create problems which might not have existed before. With our previous OnePlus 2 unit, we had noticed this, and a set of updates resulted in the phone over-heating and increased battery drain.

In case of the OnePlus 3, the company really needs to get the software right and make sure updates don’t end up creating the same set of problems that plagued the earlier smartphone.

OnePlus 3 is available on Amazon India for Rs 27,999 and the company has done away with the invite system for this year’s sale.
